Some collection descriptions are open while the records themselves have access limits, so a catalog match does not always mean immediate access.

Westminster Directories Before Carroll County

Carroll County began in 1837 from parts of Baltimore and Frederick Counties. That boundary history creates an unusual directory problem: a pre-1837 Westminster family, land, or probate trail may continue in either predecessor county. The first Carroll land book, WW-1, covers 1837 to 1838, and its every-name and tract material can preserve kin, prior owners, neighboring tracts, and even family graveyards.
